ACCESS
By car
The airport is located 27 km northeast of Athens. The main access road to Athens International Airport is Attica Avenue highway.
By train
Athens International Airport is connected to Syntagma Square (50min), Omonia Square (1 hour), Monastiraki (55min), all located downtown Athens. The price is 6 Euro. The frequency of routes is every 20-30 minutes. Syntagma Square is connected with coastal tram.
The total journey time from Athens International Airport to Piraeus lasts 90 minutes. To get to the ferry port of Piraeus, please change at Monastiraki and get on the train to Piraeus. From June 2007, a suburban railway is also available from the Airport to the Port of Piraeus, leaving every hour.
Athens International Airport is connected to Athens Central Railway Station as well. Trains depart from the Airport every 15 minutes. The journey time from Athens International Airport to Larissis Station is 38 minutes.
Athens International Airport is also connected via suburban rail to Korinthos. Trains depart every 2 hours and the journey time is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
By bus
There are six public bus lines to and from the Airport. All buses depart from the designated area of the Arrivals Level of the Main Terminal Building exactly outside the Exit (doors 4-5). They run every 10-30 minutes.
There are Express Lines for Pentagon, Syntagma or Piraeus, the ticket costs 3.20 Euro and is valid for 24 hours on all public transport (buses, trolley-buses and metro).
TAXI
Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of Arrivals Level.
A journey from the Airport to Athens center costs 20-30 Euros.
PARKING
Visitors to Athens International Airport who intend to stay for less than five hours can park in the two short-term parking areas P1 & P2, located right outside the Arrivals Level.
Visitors who intend to stay at the Airport for a period longer than five hours can park in the long-term parking area P3.
For people with disabilities, dedicated parking spaces are provided. 1 hour parking costs 3.50 Euro; 1 day, 12 Euro and 1 week costs 50 Euro.
CAR RENTAL
Several international rent a car companies offer their services upon request in the Airport. The offices are situated on the Arrivals Level.
