ACCESS
By car
The Airport is located 28 km northeast of Munich and it is accessible easily and directly via the A92 Munchen-Deggendorf Autobahn, taking the Flughafen München exit. Once at the Airport, follow the signs to Terminal 1 or 2. The Munich Airport Centre (MAC) connects Terminal 1 with Terminal 2, which is a short walk away.
By train
The airport S-Bahn rail link S1 travels from Munich Airport via the Main Station to Ostbahnhof and from there, rail connections are available to major German cities and European destinations. Journey time until Ostbahnhof is 53 minutes.
The airport S-Bahn S8 rail link connects Munich Airport via Ismaning, Ostbahnhof, Isartor, Marienplatz, Karlsplatz/Stachus, Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), Laim and Pasing to Geltendorf. Journey time is 50 minutes.
Single ticket costs 8.80 Euro, one-day ticket costs 10 Euro and child single ticket (6 - 14 years) is 1.10 Euro.
By bus
Bus and coach services run to Munich and the surrounding areas. The bus station is in front of the Central Area just a few steps from Terminals 1 and 2. 'Autobus Oberbayern' runs a Lufthansa Airport Bus service to Munchen Hauptbahnhof. The buses serve both Terminals. The bus leaves every 15-20 minutes and travel time is 40 minutes up to the city center.
Information and tickets are available from the Service Center, on level 3 of the MAC area. There are also services to Salzburg, Innsbruck and other nearby Austrian cities.
TAXI
Taxis are available from the airport to the city center, the journey time is around 45 minutes and the price is approximately 50 Euro/person.
PARKING
The Airport offers short-term parking facilities up to one week and long-term parking possibilities in multi-storey car parks near the Terminals. There are parking lots for disabled persons, security parking, valet parking, women’s parking, XXL parking, etc. The Parking Office is in the Central Area on Level 03.
